About Family Based Care (North)
Family Based Care (North) is a not-for-profit community based organisation managed by a volunteer Board of Management with representation from clients and interested members of the business and general community. FBC (North) has provided high standard care services to people in Northern Tasmania since 1983. Services are provided to people who are frail through age or illness, people with disabilities and their carers to maximised client independence and choice to reain living at home.
FBC (North) is dedicated to providing quality services through the values of respect, honesty, fairness and open communication. Clients are entitled to a quality of life based upon the same rights and opportunities as all Australians. The service is client focused and provides maximum choice of service delivery options within budgets.
FBC (North) programs are jointly funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments to provide:
- Personal Care
- Home help
- Social support
- Respite, service information and referral through the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre
- Home support to eligible clients in the form of Community Aged Care Packages (CACP) and Extended Aged Care at Home (EACH) packages
- Personal care, respite, home help and home and garden maintenance to eligible veterans
