Mission Statement

The Mission of Family Based Care (North) is to provide

individualised support for people who are frail, through age or illness,

people with disabilities and their carers,

to enable them to live as part of the broader community

with equity and dignity while encouraging them

to make decisions about their care.

About the Association

Family Based Care (North) is a not-for-profit community based organisation managed by a seven member Board of Management. Board members volunteer their time and efforts to the work of Family Based Care (North), representing clients, carers and other interested community members.

We are funded by State and Federal Governments to provide services that are specifically designed to meet some of the needs of people with disabilities (regardless of age), people who are frail through age or illness, people who have dementia, people with mental health issues, people from non-English speaking background and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and their families or primary carers.

You are encouraged to become a member of the Association - membership fees are $2 per year. As a member you may vote at the Annual General Meeting and may be eligible to be nominated as a member of the Board of Management. If you wish to take up this option, please speak to your Service Coordinator or phone the Launceston office on 6333 3999.
